Hello to all of our members and families and friends! We wanted to update you on what’s happening at our program at ADS…
Since the New Year started, the mornings have been full with money management activities, vocabulary lessons, art opportunities, and current “trending” event discussions.
Everyone has been progressing in mastering recipes during the daily lunch program. From the beginning prep to the final clean up, there’s always time for learning, social chatting, and yummy food!
Afternoons continue to be dedicated to outings and social skills.
We have our very own Tai Chi instructor come in 1x/week and everyone has enjoyed participating in this stress-relieving exercise. We are also now associated with the Tool Bank of Phoenix. This organization offers other non-profits tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, etc. that are needed for building projects. We go as a group and help the Tool Bank sort the tools back to their storage areas. Not only does this allow our members to give back to the community, but also gives a chance for exploration of future job skills.
We have taken advantage of the perfect spring weather and hiked at Dreamy Draw and continue to encourage physical exercise at ADS. Bowling continues to be a fun weekly outing for all, as well as movie outings!
Because we are always looking for new ideas and comments on how we are doing, please take a moment to fill out the attached feedback from and return to ADS. This is your chance to help us make the program even better for everyone!
Thank you!
~Lorraine, Jessica, Shelbey, Mireya, Dayna, Ricky, and Antoinette
